Trusting God: Like Elijah did

Hello Dear Readers,
I hope this letter finds you well as you start your week. I am praying you are blessed this week and every week with the abundant love of Jesus Christ. That each day you would be filled with His love for you, as you spend every hour, and every minute of each day with Him.
Are you experiencing any challenges that cause you to not trust Jesus in the matter? I know this is easy to do, and hard to notice in one's own self.  Elijah’s life is an excellent example for our lives. Whatever he did, he did it for the love of God.
Elijah was just like you and me, he trusted God for all his needs from food, shelter and the strength to do His will each day. The beautiful thing about Elijah was that he accepted God’s call, “to know Him.” This caused him to become bold in his service to the Lord and he did so. He challenged all the prophets of Baal to build an altar and sacrifice to their god. They were to call on their god to consume the sacrifice. This would be accomplished if Baal was a real god. Even after they pleaded till evening with their god to consume their sacrifice, and all the ritual things they did to try to get their god to respond, nothing happened.
“At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed, Oh, our God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel (Jacob), let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord; answer me, so these people will know that you, O Lord are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord – He is God! The Lord – He is God!” 1Kings 18:36-39
The amount of faith Elijah had in God was huge, because he knew Him intimately. God commanded him to do something and he did it. As he went all around Israel doing what God commanded, he showed the people the power of God, confronting them about their sin, and showing them the true God. There is no greater love than that of God’s. There is no equal to God, and Elijah proved that over and over in his life.
God wants to show us how we can walk each day with Him intimately and walk in the assurance that He is taking care of our every need. We have no need to worry or fret about our lives for He is watching over our every move. We are free to walk in confidence, doing what He leads us to do each day. If we follow God faithfully and completely, we will know that our lives can be like that of Elijah’s and we will experience His great power flow through our lives. The fact that God is using you to serve His purposes is a great blessing in it’s self. There is no limit to God’s grace and power, so don’t limit Him by your lack of faith. Seek His face every day and He will most definitely show Himself to you everyday in a beautiful way.
“The Lord is my Shepherd; there is nothing I lack. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.” Psalm 23:1-2
“The fear of man is a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord is protected.” Proverbs 29:25
“…If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.” Isaiah 7:9
God desires for you, His child, to walk each moment of the day with Him. Then your life will be filled with purpose and contentment knowing that you are serving Him in a way that is pleasing to God.
We will continue reading 1Kings 12 – 22 for one more week.
Have a blessed week with Jesus!
Love Tricia
